THERE' ISN'T TIME- Eleanor Farjeon

  1. http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/there-isn-t-time/
  2. There isn't time, there isn't time
To do the things I want to do,
With all the mountain-tops to climb,
And all the woods to wander through,
And all the seas to sail upon,
And everywhere there is to go,
And all the people, every one
Who lives upon the earth , to know.
To know a few, and do a few,
And then sit down and make a rhyme
About the rest I want to do.

"Washing" by John Drinkwater

                           WASHING- JOHN DRINKWATER.

What is all this washing about,
Every day, week in, week out?
From getting up till going to bed,
I'm tired of hearing the same thing said.
Whether I'm dirty of whether I'm not,
Whether the water is cold or hot,
Whether I like or whether I don't
Whether I will or whether I won't--
"Have you washed your hands,
And washed your face?"
I seem to live in the washing-place.
Whenever I go for a walk or ride,
As soon as I put my nose inside
The door again, there's some one there
With a sponge and soap, and a lot they care
If I have something better to do,
"Now wash your face and your fingers too."
Before a meal is ever begun,
And after ever a meal is done,
It's time to turn on the waterspout.
Please, what is all this washing about?

CATERPILLAR- = LYRICS.-Christina Georgina Rossetti

  • Brown and furry                       Rhyming words:
  • Caterpillar in a hurry,                furry/hurry

  • Take your walk                          walk/stalk
  • To the shady leaf, or stalk,
  • Or what not,                              not/spot
  • Which may be the chosen spot.

  • No toad spy you,                               you/you
  • Hovering bird of prey pass by you;
  • Spin and die,                                die/fly
  • To live again

It's Diwali Tonight

  1. It's Diwali Tonight!
Everything's ready to greet the new year.
    Everything's bright with light.
Everyone's dressed up and full of joy.
    It's Diwali tonight!
We've lit the lamps to show the way
    Up to our front door.
We've sprinkled coloured powders to make
    Pictures on the floor.
We've given each other gifts of sweets.
There's lots of delicious things to eat
Everything's ready to greet the new year.
    Everything's bright with light.
Everyone's dressed up and full of joy.
    It's Diwali tonight!
